First, who determines when it’s time to overthrow or even just shoot at the duly elected government, police and the US military? Isn’t that against the law and why we have elections and our form of government?
How many angry militant second amendment rights people with semi automatic weapons will it take to stand up to our well armed, well armored, well trained US military or law enforcement agencies. How do .223 semi automatic weapons and 30 bullet clips stand up to fully automatic weapons, 50 cal machine guns, tanks, armored personnel carriers with guns, grenades, shoulder fired missles, drones with missiles, ground robots with machine guns, mortars, air to ground missiles, and fighter aircraft?
The second amendment does not cover those types of weapons so why is the NRA misrepresenting the need for semi automatic assault weapons with high capacity magazines as a realistic means of protection against our government? Isn’t that false advertising? An AR might be able to kill lots of civilian and even a number of police or military personnel but it won’t keep the shooter safe for very long. In fact shooting and police and the military tends to make them mad and they shoot back.
We should be more concerned about the NRA perverting the system of government to make their manufacturer members money than to feel we need guns to fight the government. Of course perhaps if the NRA perverts the government enough we will have to fight the government but by then the NRA will have made it legal for everyone to have their own nuke.
