Besides military and law enforcement, I can see that there are some reasons why some people might need an assault weapon and high capacity magazines. But there are very few cases. Well trained, licensed and disciplined guards of high security buildings and armored cars might benefit from these types of weapons. If you need to walk in areas where packs of crazed hungry wolfs are plentiful a semi automatic with 30 bullets might be of value. That’s about all I can think of now.
When there is a valid reason to have these types of weapons, they should be available but you should need a special permit and training to be allowed to have and use these types of killing tools.
